Our Family was looking for decent Chinese food and of course checked Yelp and found this cozy nondescript little restaurant tucked away in the center of a busy "L" shaped strip mall. The restaurant inside is attractive, and service is fast and attentive. Bathroom is clean and tidy. Restaurant also seems to do a brisk carry-out business.
The food is the stand out star here: vegetables are fresh and crispy in their dishes, and sauces are quite nice and flavorful. Not a fan (yet) of their NY style egg rolls (just the standard fare they have are fine).
In the Valley and want "Family style" Chinese tonight? You've found "the place". I've never had problems parking - but feel the stink eye from some other shop keepers when parking in front of their businesses to patronize this establishment. -

This is our FAVORITE Chinese restaurant that delivers!
Not only is their food delicious, they have great customer service! They are always kind & always prompt with their entire delivery process!
Our top choices:
Hot & sour soup
Wonton soup
Chow fun with Black bean & chicken! -

I met my downtown buddy at East Garden in Chinatown, at his recommendation. I was skeptical bc this same buddy steered me wrong at a place in Santa Monica. However, this time he hooked me up! EG is on Hill b/t Alpine & Ord.
EG Is a homey Cantonese place that serves inexpensive, hearty dishes. There are a few specials like won ton mein ($4.99), pork chop rice ($5.99) and Jajangmyeon ($5.99). We also added seafood juk ($7.95). BTW, for Cherylynn N from SF, they have hainan chicken ($5.99).
First of all, the won ton mein is ridiculously inexpensive for 6 won tons. The noodles were also plentiful, and nice and chewy. My friend said this dish used to be $3.99: 5 Stars.
Secondarily, the pork chop rice could be a meal by itself for a light eater. The meat was super tender and it came w/ a nice dipping sauce: 5 Stars.
I haven't had Jajangmyeon in a while, bc most places make it poorly. However, EG's version is to my liking bc of the spices and the big portion. Again, this could serve as an entire meal: 5 Stars.
Lastly, the seafood juk was hearty and nicely seasoned. All that was needed was a little white pepper, and you were good to go: 5 Stars. -

I'd say it's more 3.5 stars for me, but I've rounded it down because while this place has a hint of authenticity in terms of Chinese food, it lacks in some basic things like how they do not have egg noodles for the wonton soup or more variety of dishes here. Also, no chili oil, whutttt :O. I do feel certain dishes here taste pretty legit, so it works for my cravings.

The garlic fried rice is pretty bomb, love the taste! They did a good job with this one. Smells so aromatic. 4/5.
Hot sour soup is pretty standard here, decently good, nothing stands out but that's not a bad thing. 3.5
Mapo tofu is good but doesn't have meat in it which brings down the rating for me. 3/5
Wonton noodle soup was totally unlike legit Chinese places so if you're expecting 626 quality and taste, you won't find this here. The noodles are not egg noodles and the soup is not your typical wonton soup. This tastes more like a instant wonton soup you might find at a grocery store in the Asian aisle. 2.5/5
Dimsum items were not worth the price or up to my expectations taste-wise. 2/5

I wish they had more menu items, I feel that it's quite limited. I feel like they tried to be authentic but just got lazy part of the way through. However, for fried rice and soup cravings, it's decent for that so I'll probably still come quite a bit given it's convenience. Small tiny lot but still kinda doable. Service is good. -

Wow!
Food is amazing. I was driving by and decided to check it out. It was way better than I expected, highly recommend this place. Try the honey glazed walnut shrimp.
